I have been teaching at the University of Groningen, in the Netherlands, since 2009. I teach mainly Psychology courses, with an emphasis on Auditory Perception, Research Methodology and Ethics, Science Communication, and Education.

My research focuses on understanding how speech perception is affected in less than optimal conditions, because of hearing impairment, ageing, communicating in a non-native language, or external noise.
I’ve been hosting a podcast on higher education since 2021, most recently, in collaboration with mathematician Marcello Seri. In it, we speak with university students and teachers about all manners of didactic methods, values, and philosophies.
